The Southern Football League Women's (SFLW) is a prominent Australian Rules football competition specifically for women in Southern Tasmania. Established to foster and promote female participation in the sport, the SFLW serves as an integral part of the broader Southern Football League (SFL), which has a rich history dating back to 1960.
In 2017 the SFL introduced a Women’s competition. Clubs competing in the SFLW are: Brighton, Claremont, Cygnet, Hobart, Huonville, Lindisfarne, New Norfolk, North Hobart, South East Suns, Kingborough and University.
The SFLW provides a structured and competitive environment for women to play Australian Rules football, offering opportunities for players of all skill levels to engage in the sport.
